Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I sign up for these races?
Beautiful courses, great food, good company, quality custom and local finisher medal, friendly competition, performance t-shirt, and swag. What more could you want? Really if you can think of something let us know and we will try to get it!

What will the course be marked with?
We plan to use signs, flags, barrier tape, and trail marshals to keep you from getting lost. We mark our courses extremely well.

How is the race timed?
These races are timed using Ultrasignups timing software. Live results will be available after finishing. This software works really well due to the design and limited amount of runners we have - 300 or less.

When and where do I get my bib?
Packet pickup will be 3 pm - 6 pm the Friday before each race at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Company store. You can also pick up your packet the morning of the race. We guarantee if you arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the race you will have plenty of time to park, pick up bag, go to bathroom, drop non essentials off in your car, and make it to the pre-race announcement.
Why do you start so early?
Early morning as the sun rises is the best time to run. It is beautiful, cool temperature, and not as crowded. This also leaves the rest of the day to get back to your busy Saturday.

Do you have cut off times?
We are only giving out finisher medals to those who finish which we want to be 100% of participants. Even if it means you walking the entire course we will be there waiting at the finish line with your medal.

The Marathon and ultra are the only exception. We had to implement cut off times for the runners safety. See race page for details.

What gear do I need?
For the paved trail races you will probably not need anything. For the dirt trail races we recommend carrying a water bottle or some type of hydration vest. Check out the map pages each race has to get an idea of distance and elevation gain between aid stations.

Why cap events to 300 total participants?
Due to these races taking place on trails we have to limit the number of participants. Registration closes when 300 is hit for all races combined. Quality over quantity!

What will be at aid stations?
Water, electrolyte drink, bars, gels, anything the race director thinks looks good at Costco, and tasty snacks we pick up from sponsors.

Is your finishers medal plastic?
No! We have a trash can full of cheap knock off finisher or participation medals from races we have entered. We want these medals to be something you keep and hold onto. These are local and custom made medals and we think they are awesome! The medals will differ in design each year.

Is the shirt nice or just going to get lost in my drawer?
Being runners ourselves we know how annoying it is to get a cotton shirt you would never actually run in. These are polyester shirts that are comfortable and have what we think is a cool design.

Why Ultrasignup for Registration?
Ultrasignup started with Ultramarathons but now does all races. They have great timing software and their results tracking from year to year and race to race is amazing.

Do you offer refunds?
We will issue a credit if the runner needs to drop prior to 3 weeks of the race. The credit waives all costs and fees for any of our races you sign up for and will expire after 1 year.
We put in the final order for all supplies, medals, and shirts 3 weeks prior to the race. At this point we would ask all runners to be committed to the race but we will still issue a credit for 50% of the registration amount until 3 days prior to the race. When we are 3 days out we are too busy to even look at emails and all preparations have been made for your participation in the race!

What if it is bad weather?
All races will be be held rain or shine.
